We would like to recognize Charlotte Wilkins. Charlotte is a 3rd grader in Mrs. Savages's class. Mrs. Savage said that some girls came running out of the bathroom after lunch to tell her that there was a paper mess, but before she got in there to check it out Charlotte had already cleaned it up without being asked. We are proud of her and thankful for her efforts!

Early Dismissal & No School

The NCOE school district was notified around 8 a.m. this morning by White Co. Sheriff Jordan Weiss that he received information regarding a concerning statement made by a minor on social media that could potentially affect the schools. We immediately put the schools on "Secure" until the situation was resolved. The high school was not placed on a "Secure" because the situation was addressed quickly and by the time Mr. Wehlermann was notified the situation was resolved.
The White County Sheriff, Norris City Police, as well as our School Resource Officer thoroughly investigated the situation and it was not deemed a viable threat.
As always, student and staff safety is our top priority and will take all necessary precautions. As with all school safety issues we investigate and work closely with our local law enforcement to address and report any threat to school safety.
