It's a misconception that kids spend all day sitting quietly in their desks. Our teachers use flexible seating and many movement breaks to keep our kids healthy and focused. Here are some of Mrs. Eisenhauer's 2nd graders doing just that!

My name is Maggie Hansbrough and I am in the ACE program at SIC. The ACE program is a semester of after school college classes for juniors and seniors that allows them to obtain college credit before attending college. One of our assignments is to find a way to give back to the community. In doing so, I have created a charity called “Helping Handbags”. I am going to be putting one of each of the items listed in the photo below into a bag, taking them to local homeless shelters, and giving them to the homeless. I cannot ensure that I will be able to buy enough supplies to give everyone a bag, so I am asking for donations of the supplies listed in the photo below from the community. My drop off location for any of this supplies is at the NCOE High School. The deadline for donations is September 29th. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any donations I receive!

Mrs. Cushman's science classes at NCOE Grade School had a great time yesterday participating in a lab called Saving Fred. They had to try and save Fred (a gummy worm) from drowning using only paperclips to get him to the life preserver.
